The Nigeria Premier Football League has reduced the number of participating teams for The Dozy Mmobuosi pre-season Super Cup.

The adjustment was made towards sustaining the tempo of the competition.

According to the organisers, the number of teams will reduce from 12 to eight teams.

” We firmly believe that this change will allow for a more concentrated display of skill, intensify competition among the top teams and ultimately enhance the fan experience,” the statement read.

“Our priority continues to be delivering a thrilling and memorable Super Cup and playing a role in further developing the football infrastructure.

Shooting Stars won the maiden edition of the pre-season tournament.
