The Premier League is now in its final weeks of the 2022/2023 campaign.
As is always the case, there is something to fight for all across the table.
This weekend promises to be another exciting instalment.
YaraNG highlights at least four fixtures where you could see shock results.
These matches include but are not limited to Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal, Liverpool vs Aston Villa, Bournemouth vs Man Utd and even Manchester City vs Chelsea.
1. Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal: At this stage of the season, anything is possible and with Arsenal, things seem not to be going as planned or hoped for. A 3-0 defeat to Brighton at the Emirates Stadium last weekend says it all. To many, it was a shocking result, because the team was at a point where they were not expected to fall but they fell anyway.
However, it would not be surprising if they hand Man City the title today simply by dropping points at Nottingham. Forest held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in their last outing as they fought to stay in the top flight. This match could produce what could further detail Arsenal’s end-of-the-season crisis.
2. Man City vs Chelsea: Chelsea is struggling. A draw with Nottingham Forest, on a normal day is not the best result for the Blues. However, one could say there is an improvement since the match before that against Bournemouth ended 2-0 in their favour. It wouldn’t then be out of place to say that Frank Lampard’s Blues would want to spoil the show for the high-flying Manchester City side. If the West London side rises to the occasion they could stop City from winning the title at least not this weekend.
Liverpool vs Aston Villa: Aston Villa are aiming to pick a spot in Europe this season. The Villains have been outstanding since the appointment of Unai Emery and could easily beat any team. However, a defeat will end Liverpool’s hopes of sneaking into the top four where they are looking to displace Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp’s men, who have won their last 7 matches, could receive the shock of their lives from Emery’s stubborn side.
Bournemouth vs Man Utd: Red Devils game against Bournemouth happens to be a tricky one. A defeat to Bournemouth would present Liverpool with the opportunity to climb to fourth place if they beat Aston Villa. Man United have been inconsistent since winning the Carabao Cup and hardly wins matches back to back with a very poor away record this season. Before their 2-0 home win against Wolves, the Red Devils had fallen 1-0 to Brighton (away) and the same result was repeated against West Ham United. Bournemouth could be frustrating Erik Ten Hag’s side’s top-four chances.
