Barcelona manager Xavi has said that Lionel Messi’s potential return to the club depends on what he wants.
The Argentine superstar has been linked with a sensational comeback at the La Liga champions, just two years after he left and signed for Paris Saint-Germain.
A move back to Barcelona would see him play under the management of Xavi, with the duo being former teammates in their successful years at Camp Nou as players.
Messi’s return to the La Liga giants would certainly be a spectacular switch, but his potential new boss believes it’s up to the forward.
Speaking on Monday, Xavi said: “It’s up in the air. “It depends on many things. There is not much more I can say. Leo is a spectacular footballer. He is a friend. From there, it depends on many things, but above all on his intentions and what he wants.”
