UECL: Nigerian forward, Orban scoops Player of the Week honour

KAA Gent forward, Gift Orban, has been named UEFA Europa Conference League Player of the Week.

The Nigerian netted a hat-trick in the Belgian Pro League side 4-1 win at Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday night.

It was the fastest-ever hat-trick in the history of the competition.

“Gift Orban’s sensational hat-trick wins him Player of the Week honours!,”reads a tweet on the UEFA website.

The 21-year-old has scored 12 goals in nine appearances across all competitions for Gent.

The striker only linked up with Gent from Norwegian second division club, Staebek in January.
